Murugeson Manoharan, M.D., is the chair of the department of urology for Baptist Health, chief of urologic oncologic surgery at Miami Cancer Institute and Abbhi Family Endowed Chair in Urologic Oncology. He leads a team of highly skilled and compassionate board-certified urologists who specialize in treating various urologic conditions.

We offer several minimally invasive treatments for an enlarged prostate, including:
- Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP), a minimally invasive procedure to remove prostate tissue using a laser fiber
- Prostatic urethral lift, also known by its brand name UroLift, which uses clips to hold back enlarged prostate tissue and open the urethra
- Vaporization of the prostate, a procedure in which a laser heats and vaporizes excess prostate tissue
Most of these procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. All of them may minimize symptoms enlarged prostate symptoms.

About 70 percent of men and women with urinary incontinence see improvement with pelvic floor physical therapy offered at Baptist Health.
A physical therapist who specializes in pelvic floor therapy offers this treatment. It involves regular appointments over six to eight weeks and includes:
- Biofeedback
- Bladder training and bowel management
- Electrical stimulation
- Exercises to strengthen core and pelvic floor muscles
The therapist also instructs patients on proper stretching, relaxation, deep breathing and visualization. The treatment is not painful. Physicians often recommend it prior to surgery or other more invasive treatment options.
