Baptist Health Orthopedic Care is South Florida’s leading orthopedic care provider, with more than 30 Board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries and treating patients from the Florida Keys north to Broward County.

If you experience an orthopedic injury or have a musculoskeletal condition that is limiting your mobility or quality of life, our vast team of orthopedic specialists and surgeons, including sports medicine physicians, will help diagnose your problem and find the most appropriate and effective treatment to get you back to your normal activities.

Which orthopedic conditions are treated at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care?

Our team treats simple fractures of bones to complex injuries and conditions involving bones, joints, muscles and other soft musculoskeletal tissue from your neck to your toes, including your spine, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists and hands. Our highly skilled orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants and athletic trainers work together to treat:

  • Overuse injuries
  • Fractures
  • Dislocations
  • Sprains
  • Tendon tears
  • Ligament tears
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Muscle injuries
  • Congenital deformities

How are orthopedic conditions and injuries diagnosed at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care?

The first step to diagnosing your condition or injury is with a physical exam, followed by imaging tests, such as X-rays or ultrasound, performed in our office, to confirm the diagnosis.

If further evaluation is needed, a CT scan or MRI will be ordered and used to pinpoint the injury or condition and to help us determine the best treatment options.

Baptist Health Orthopedic Care offers high-resolution MRI for the most accurate images of your anatomy and the ability for surgeons to tailor your surgery to your individual needs. We also  offer weight-bearing CT scans for foot and ankle conditions or injuries. Using this technology, which stiches two-dimensional views into a three-dimensional digital replica of the foot and ankle, helps us see from 360 degrees how your injury or condition responds when you stand or bear weight.

How are orthopedic conditions or injuries treated at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care?

While orthopedics centers around surgery, our team focuses on non-surgical, conservative treatment options first, if appropriate for you. These include the use of immobilization devices – such as braces or splints, physical therapy, or injections of medication, platelet-rich plasma or stem cells into the affected area.

If your condition or injury requires surgery, our Board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeons use the latest tools and minimally invasive approaches available to ensure the best surgical outcome for you. Additionally, our physical therapists work with you following your surgery to help restore mobility and function, often just hours after surgery.

Which type of orthopedic specialist should I see for my injury?

If you experience an injury or have a musculoskeletal condition that is limiting your movement and quality of life, Baptist Health Orthopedic Care has the experts to care for you. Our team of orthopedic physicians, their physician assistants and nurse practitioners, along with our athletic trainers and physical therapists, have the training, skill and knowledge to properly diagnose your injury or condition and effectively restore your function and desired activity level.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We’re proud that our orthopedic surgeons are fellowship trained. That’s because this extra clinical training, beyond medical school and residency, provides these surgeons with additional hands-on training and exposure to research and surgical applications they would otherwise not have had.

Because they are fellowship-trained, our orthopedic surgeons teach and guide other fellows through their training. This keeps our surgeons current in their own practice, as they must continue to sharpen their skills and learn the latest advances in their specialty to train the next generation of orthopedic surgeons.
