Who We Are
Since 1987, Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute has been a leader in transforming how heart and vascular care is delivered. Founded by renowned interventional radiologist Barry T. Katzen, M.D., the Institute was among the first in the country to treat the heart and blood vessels as a single, integrated system—a revolutionary model that others still follow today. When you come to us, you’re choosing an Institute built on experience, innovation, and compassion.
Today, we are the largest and most comprehensive cardiovascular program in South Florida, offering:
Multidisciplinary care teams led by nationally and internationally trained physicians.
Pioneering research and participation in more than 50 cardiovascular clinical trials.
Minimally invasive and robotic procedures that reduce recovery time and improve outcomes.
Multilingual providers who ensure every patient feels seen, heard, and supported.
Our vision is to transform medicine by keeping patients at the center of every decision we make. Transformation means pushing boundaries—advancing our specialty through constant innovation. Putting patients first means that every step of their journey, from the first phone call to follow-up care, is guided by compassion, precision, and their unique needs. Patient-centered care isn’t just what we believe—it’s what we live. And our entire team is here to walk that journey with you.”
