  • Yes, you can preregister on The Baptist Health PineApp. After scheduling your diagnostic imaging appointment, complete your preregistration before you arrive.

  • Baptist Health accepts most major insurance carriers. View a list of the insurance plans we accept.

  • FloridaHealthPriceFinder, a service of the Agency for Health Care Administration, offers a tool that shows the average price someone can expect to pay out of pocket for procedures. Prices can be more or less than the average, depending on your insurance deductible, the severity of your illness or injury, and other factors.

  • A common example of a diagnostic imaging test is an X-ray, which takes pictures of the inside of your body to help detect broken bones, infections, or other issues. Other examples include MRI, CT scans, Mammography and ultrasounds, all of which help your physician see what's going on inside your body without surgery.

  • The four main types of diagnostic imaging techniques offered at Baptist Health include:

    • X-ray – uses electromagnetic radiation to produce imaging and is often used to view bones and detect fractures. X-rays can also produce imaging of soft tissue (ex: lungs).
    • CT scan – Combines X-rays and computer processing technology to create cross-sectional images.
    • MRI – uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to generate detailed images of soft tissues and organs.
    • Ultrasound – uses high frequency ultrasound sound waves to create real-time images of organs and blood flow.

  • Diagnostic imaging refers to a variety of noninvasive tests that allow healthcare providers to look inside your body. These tests help detect, diagnose, and monitor many health conditions without needing surgery. Imaging plays a key role in creating a treatment plan and tracking recovery.

  • It depends on the test. An X-ray may take only 10 minutes, while an MRI or PET scan can take 30–60 minutes.

  • Results are typically sent to your referring provider within 24-48 hours. You will also have access to them on the PineApp.

  • Most imaging tests are painless. Some may require you to hold still, or you may receive a contrast dye for clearer images.

An appointment and prescription are required.
