Renata R. Ruiz, M.D., FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. She provides complete dermatological care, including medical, surgical and cosmetic. Her clinical interests include the treatment of multi-ethnic skin and diversity within the dermatology field.
Dr. Ruiz earned her medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. She completed an internship in internal medicine as well as a three-year residency in dermatology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Passionate about patient education, advocacy and volunteering, Dr. Ruiz has published her work in medical journals, presented abstracts at medical symposiums, participated in radio talk shows, led free clinics and traveled abroad for medical mission trips. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and an active member of the Skin of Color Society and Women’s Dermatological Society.
Providing patient-centered care is the cornerstone of Dr. Ruiz’s practice. She treats patients how she would like to be treated or how she would like a family member to be treated — with respect and empathy and a focus on trust and clear communication.
Dr. Ruiz is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. When she is not treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, dancing and traveling.

The Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital and Miami Cancer Institute both received High Performing ratings in colon cancer surgery.
