Collaborative Cancer Care
Our pediatric specialists know delivering the best treatment for children requires a multidisciplinary, team-based approach. That’s why we’ve worked closely with South Florida’s leading pediatric facility, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Together, we created the region’s largest, most comprehensive pediatric radiation oncology program that offers a full range of radiation therapies, including proton therapy for children.
We know every child’s cancer is different, so they need a personalized treatment plan. Our team of pediatric specialists has the expertise to care for all your child’s needs. Your care team includes radiation oncologists, radiation therapists and medical physicists who all work closely with our pediatric nurses, social workers and child life specialists.

South Florida’s First Proton Therapy Center
Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute is the first cancer center to bring proton therapy to the region. This highly specialized treatment uses targeted proton particles to attack and kill cancer cells in tumors. The therapy largely spares the surrounding healthy tissue and reduces the risk of side effects. This sophisticated treatment is used only for certain types of cancers in a limited number of patients.
