Cancer Treatment with Unrivaled Accuracy
Your tumor may sit tightly against one of your organs, but it’s constantly moving. Breathing shifts the tumor in your chest. Bladder or rectum changes can budge a tumor in your pelvis. Safe, effective radiation therapy requires being able to accurately target your tumor. Most radiation therapy systems can’t see inside your body to do that, increasing your risk of severe side effects.
MRIdian is different. This noninvasive, outpatient therapy gives our radiation oncologists a continuous, real-time view of your tumor and nearby organs. If your tumor moves during treatment, we can pause and reposition the energy beam. MRIdian is also the first radiation delivery system that lets us adjust your radiation treatment daily. These changes ensure only your tumor — not the surrounding health tissue — receives high-dose radiation therapy.
