How are desmoplastic small round cell tumors diagnosed?

DSRCT may be hard to diagnose because it is rare and the symptoms are common to other conditions. To diagnose it and determine whether it has spread, our team may use:

  • Imaging: such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT or CAT) scans, or positive emission tomography (PET) scans
  • Biopsy: removing a small amount of tissue and fluid using a needle or through surgery
