Living beyond bladder cancer

Our team is committed to helping to you live well long after your bladder cancer treatment. We are here to support the whole patient – physically, emotionally and spiritually – throughout the cancer journey.

Miami Cancer Institute's Survivorship Program will help you heal and recover from your treatment, as well as show you how to thrive as a cancer survivor. The program provides support groups for you and your loved ones, educational programs and follow-up care resources.

Bladder cancer treatment can sometimes affect bladder, bowel and sexual function, and our team will work closely with you to address any concerns or side effects you may experience during or after treatment.

The Ringing of the Bell

A bright silver bell hangs in the lobby of Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. At the end of active treatment, you’re invited to ring the bell. This tradition was started by Rear Admiral Irve Le Moyne of the U.S. Navy, who was undergoing radiation for head and neck cancer. He was following a Navy tradition of ringing a bell to signify “when the job was done.” Today, nearly all cancer facilities have a similar bell that patients ring to mark the end of treatment.
