Zdenka Ena Segota, M.D., Joins Baptist Health as Hematologist Oncologist
BOCA RATON, FL – November 15, 2023 – Zdenka Ena Segota, M.D., a board-certified hematologist oncologist, has joined the Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Her clinical interests include breast cancer and hematologic malignancies such as lymphoma and myeloma.
Prior to joining Lynn Cancer Institute, Dr. Segota was an attending physician at the Michael and Dianne Bienes Comprehensive Cancer Center at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She also served as the educational coordinator for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at Holy Cross Hospital internal medicine residency program.

Dr. Segota earned her medical degree at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine in Croatia. She completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Cleveland Clinic Health System, Huron Hospital. Her extensive training also includes a hematology and medical oncology fellowship and an experimental therapeutics research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center, Taussig Cancer Institute.
Dr. Segota has wide-ranging research experience, putting her at the forefront of innovations in cancer care. During her career, she has served as principal investigator or sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials that have resulted in the development of many new oncology medications. These studies aim to improve patients’ pre-surgical and post-surgical outcomes as well as metastatic cancer survival rates.
Dr. Segota focuses on offering her patients precision medicine through genomic testing. This type of testing identifies disease-associated variants to help match patients to more personalized therapies or assess a patient’s disease risk and help target more effective therapies. “I enjoy connecting and interacting with my patients,” Dr. Segota said. “Every person is unique, and every person deserves to receive an individual approach to cancer care.”
