March 27, 2025

BOCA RATON, FL – March 27, 2025 – Rob and Pamela Sands, through The Sands Family Foundation, have given a $1.75 million gift to Keeping the Promise…The Campaign for Boca Raton Regional Hospital. The Sands’ latest donation will name the cardiovascular operating room in the new surgical suite.

“Nothing speaks louder to the strength of our vision, mission and strategic plans than donors who choose to give multiple times to the same capital campaign,” said Lincoln Mendez, North Region Executive, Baptist Health and CEO, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, part of Baptist Health. “Rob and Pamela Sands have quickly become integral members of the Boca Regional family, demonstrating unwavering commitment and generosity. We are incredibly fortunate to have the Sands as part of our donor family, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their support.”

Mr. Sands retired from his role as Chief Executive Officer of Constellation Brands in 2019. He now serves as a non-management director for the company, which is a leading international producer and marketer of beer, wine and spirits with operations in the U.S., Mexico, New Zealand and Italy. Their mission is to build brands people love because they believe elevating human connections is worth reaching for.

Rob and Pamela Sands, through The Sands Family Foundation, have demonstrated extraordinary philanthropy, actively supporting healthcare, education and the arts. Their impact has long been felt in Manhattan and Rochester, New York and the Finger Lakes region, where their generosity has strengthened communities and transformed lives.

Mr. Sands has been a dedicated and engaged leader in Boca Raton, serving on both the Hospital and Foundation Boards of Directors. The Sands Family Foundation has proudly sponsored the annual golf outing for three years and underwrote the inaugural Glow Red Golf Tournament in 2019, benefiting Christine E. Lynn Heart & Vascular Institute. This year, the Sands Family Foundation is the proud title sponsor of the PRO-AM Celebrity Flight at the 26th Annual Boca Raton Regional Hospital Golf Tournament. Rob and Pamela have focused much of their philanthropy in Boca Raton on advancing healthcare, guided by their belief that a strong healthcare system is the basis of a thriving community.

“Rob and Pamela are dedicated to making a meaningful impact and helping to shape the future of healthcare in Boca Raton and beyond,” said Mark Larkin, President, Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. “Their families have personally experienced the outstanding care provided by our hospital, and they have responded with extraordinary commitment. We are deeply appreciative of their steadfast dedication and collaboration.”

The Keeping the Promise Campaign is the largest fundraising initiative in Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s history and supports more than $1 billion in capital investments. The campus redevelopment plans include the Gloria Drummond Patient Tower and a critical care tower where patients will be welcomed in the inviting new Louis B. and Anne W. Green Lobby with plans for retail, dining, meeting space, a sanctuary, outdoor courtyards and other conveniences for visitors. The project features all private patient rooms exceeding the latest safety standards for patient care. In the current hospital building, all existing rooms will be converted to private rooms in a comprehensive renovation of all patient units, including maternity, oncology and orthopedics. An expansion of Marcus Neuroscience Institute is now complete, with an emphasis on stroke, central nervous system tumors, spine and epilepsy. The 972-car Schmidt Family Parking Facility will connect to Marcus Neuroscience Institute. The new Toby and Leon Cooperman Medical Arts Pavilion is home to our orthopedic institute, with an outpatient surgery center and physician specialty offices, and is adjacent to the Eleanor Baldwin Parking Facility.
