Subhadeep Paul, M.D., Joins Baptist Health General Surgery as a General Surgeon

September 3, 2025

MIAMI, FL – September 3, 2025 – General surgeon Subhadeep Paul, M.D., has joined Baptist Health General Surgery. He specializes in robotic and minimally invasive general surgery — approaches that allow for greater precision, reduced postoperative pain and shorter hospital stays. Dr. Paul focuses on conditions that affect the entire digestive tract, including the stomach, lower esophagus, gallbladder, hernias (including umbilical, incisional, inguinal, hiatal, and ventral/abdominal wall), small intestine and large intestine. He also performs upper endoscopy and colonoscopy to diagnose and treat upper and lower gastrointestinal (GI) conditions. He treats conditions involving the lower GI tract, including diverticulitis, colon polyps and colon cancer.

In addition to GI procedures, Dr. Paul treats benign and malignant breast conditions, including breast cancer, as well as skin and soft tissue lesions/cancers, pilonidal disease, benign anorectal conditions and thyroid and parathyroid diseases.

"We are pleased to welcome Dr. Paul to our highly skilled team of medical professionals, dedicated to providing the highest quality care to our patients,” said Jack Ziffer, Ph.D., M.D., executive vice president, chief clinical officer and chief physician executive at Baptist Health.

Dr. Paul earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, graduating with distinction in research. He completed his general surgery residency at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, a high-volume, tertiary care level 1 trauma center, and gained additional experience across several private hospitals systems. This training exposed him to a wide range of cases and subspecialties, including vascular, cardiothoracic, trauma/surgical critical care, minimally invasive/robotic foregut and bariatrics/weight loss, burn and wound care, plastics, endocrine, transplant, breast, colorectal and pediatric surgery.

During his clinical training, Dr. Paul was selected to serve as the administrative chief of his residency program and mentored junior residents and medical students and conducted research. His work is published in peer-reviewed surgical journals, and he has presented at national symposiums and conferences. He has received numerous awards for his academic and clinical expertise. He also contributes to the surgical community as a member of the American College of Surgeons and American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Since surgery can be a life-changing event, Dr. Paul strives to ensure his patients feel informed, empowered and supported throughout their surgical journey. He approaches every case with the goal of providing comprehensive, compassionate care — before, during and after the procedure. “I take time to understand the medical concerns of my patients as well as their personal goals, support systems and apprehensions,” he said. “I collaborate with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans that prioritize both physical healing and emotional well-being.”

Dr. Paul is fluent in English and Bengali. He will see patients at Baptist Health General Surgery | Homestead, 975 Baptist Way, Suite 201, Homestead, FL 33033, Baptist Health General Surgery | Tavernier, 91500 Overseas Hwy, Tavernier, FL 33070, and Baptist Health General Surgery | Marathon, 3303 Overseas Highway, Suite 100, Marathon, FL 33050.
