Robert DerHagopian, M.D., FACS, Joins the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute
BOCA RATON, FL – February 21, 2024 – Robert DerHagopian, M.D., FACS, has joined the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, as a breast health specialist. He draws upon his four decades of breast surgical oncology experience to assess a patient’s breast cancer risk and offer education and risk reduction strategies. He provides pre- and post-biopsy consultations as well as personalized breast imaging surveillance plans. He also helps patients with a history of breast cancer manage their cancer survivorship care plan.

Dr. DerHagopian has a rich history with Baptist Health, serving for a combined 10 years as director of the Baptist Health Breast Center and director of the Breast Center at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. Prior to those roles, he was in private practice for 26 years as a breast surgical oncologist.
As a longtime breast cancer researcher, Dr. DerHagopian has collaborated with nationally renowned oncologists and surgeons in cancer treatment research. He has published his findings in medical journals, presented at national conferences and seminars and received numerous honors for his professional contributions. He also has extensive teaching experience, serving 20 years as associate professor of surgery in the Department of Surgical Oncology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. DerHagopian earned his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Mass. He completed a general surgery residency at BostonCity Hospital and a general surgery residency at Tufts – New England Medical Center. He also completed two fellowships — one in transplant surgery at Tufts – New England Medical Center and one in surgical oncology at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the Society of Surgical Oncology.
Dr. DerHagopian’s personal approach to treating patients and their families goes beyond medical expertise to encompass heartfelt caring and compassion. “I join patients in celebrating positive outcomes and help ease their pain and find strength during challenging times,” he said.
