Rebekka Hooks, M.D., MSc, Joins Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute as a Neuro-oncologist
MIAMI, FL – September 29, 2025 – Neuro-oncologist Rebekka Hooks, M.D., MSc, has joined Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. She provides comprehensive care to patients with primary and secondary central nervous system tumors. She specializes in treating gliomas, brain metastases, skull base tumors and hereditary tumor syndromes such as neurofibromatosis and Von Hippel–Lindau disease. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in adult neurology.
Dr. Hooks is passionate about advancing supportive care strategies that enhance quality of life, integrating clinical trial opportunities into patient care and mentoring the next generation of physicians through teaching and research. She also contributes to the medical community as a member of the American Academy of Neurology and Society of Neuro-Oncology.

After earning a master’s degree in medical neurosciences at Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, Germany, Dr. Hooks earned her medical degree at the Faculty of Medicine, Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, graduating cum laude. Her seven years of clinical training included a neurology internship and residency as well as a neuro-oncology fellowship, all completed at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
During her clinical training, Dr. Hooks served as resident wellness program developer and chief, published her work in scientific journals, presented at institutional academic conferences and taught in didactic settings.
Dr. Hooks believes that every patient deserves care that is not only scientifically advanced but also deeply compassionate. “I emphasize patient-centered communication, shared decision-making and holistic support for patients and their families,” she said. “I strive to combine evidence-based treatment with a strong focus on quality of life, recognizing that trust, clarity and compassion are as important as innovation in neuro-oncology.”
