Radiation oncologist Ana Botero, M.D., joins Miami Cancer Institute
MIAMI – August 26, 2020 – Board-certified radiation oncologist Ana Botero, M.D., has joined Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health South Florida. Dr. Botero specializes in treating brain, head and neck, lung, gastrointestinal, breast, gynecological, prostate and thyroid cancers, as well as oligometastatic diseases.

“Dr. Botero is a well-recognized international speaker in radiation oncology, lecturing and teaching on topics related to radiosurgery and combined radiation and immunotherapy treatments,” said Leonard Kalman, M.D., executive deputy director and chief medical officer at Miami Cancer Institute.
Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Botero served as attending physician in the radiation oncology department at Memorial Cancer Institute, part of Memorial Health System. She is a board member of the Broward American Lung Association and member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, American Brachytherapy Society and American Thyroid Association. She is also a founder-member of the Ibero Latin American Radiosurgery Society.
After earning a medical degree from Instituto de Ciencias de la Salud in Medellin, Colombia, Dr. Botero completed her residency in radiation oncology at the Washington University Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., where she served as an assistant professor of radiation oncology. She is Board certified in general surgery and radiation oncology.
