Priscilla Escalona Villasmil, M.D, joins Baptist Health as an Endocrinologist
MIAMI, FL – May 2, 2023 – Priscilla Escalona Villasmil, M.D., is a board-certified endocrinologist at Baptist Health and speaks fluent English and Spanish.

Prior to joining Baptist Health in 2023, Dr. Escalona worked as an endocrinologist at Prisma Health in Greenville, SC, for seven years. She also taught as a clinical assistant professor at University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Greenville.
As part of her endocrinology practice, Dr. Escalona treats patients with diabetes, thyroid conditions, metabolic disorders, pituitary diseases and more. She also focuses on diabetes during pregnancy along with maternal-fetal medicine and bases her clinical research on this population.
“I’m honored to join the Baptist Health endocrinology team,” says Dr. Escalona. “I look forward to diagnosing and providing the most appropriate treatments for South Florida patients while establishing positive, long-term relationships that result in the best patient outcomes.”
After receiving her medical degree from Universidad Centro-Occidental Lisandro Alvarado in Venezuela, Dr. Escalona completed her internal medicine residency at Carney Hospital, a Tufts University School of Medicine affiliate. During her residency, she earned the Best Teaching Resident award. She then continued her medical training by completing an endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism fellowship at Tufts Medical Center.
