Natalia Rincon Buendia, M.D., MPH, Joins Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute
MIAMI, FL – January 7, 2024 – Neurologist Natalia Rincon Buendia, M.D., MPH, has joined Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. She specializes in the treatment of epilepsy. Her clinical interests and expertise include the use of neuromodulation for the management of pharmacoresistant epilepsy and women's issues in epilepsy, such as catamenial epilepsy and epilepsy during pregnancy.
"Dr. Rincon Buendia will help us build a robust epilepsy program and support the expansive neurology needs of our community," said Diego Torres- Russotto, M.D., chair of neurology and the Distinguished Endowed Chair in Neurology at Miami Neuroscience Institute.
Dr. Rincon Buendia earned her medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Greenville after earning a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology degree at the University of Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans. She served as chief resident during a neurology residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Jackson Memorial Hospital. Her post-doctoral training also includes a neurophysiology and epilepsy fellowship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York, where she served as chief fellow.
Dr. Rincon Buendia is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society. She has published her research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presented scientific papers at professional symposiums.
The patient-physician relationship is important to Dr. Rincon Buendia. “I value the importance of listening and understanding the concerns of the patient so I can provide tailored care that addresses their unique needs and goals,” she said.
