Miriam Zylberglait, M.D., Joins Baptist Health Medical Group

MIAMI, FL – April 27, 2026 – Board-certified physician Miriam Zylberglait, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Medical Group at Baptist Health South Miami Hospital. She specializes in obesity medicine and will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals living with obesity and related metabolic conditions.

 

Dr. Zylberglait is board-certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine and obesity medicine. She brings a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach to care, with a focus on prevention, long-term success and improving quality of life. Her work emphasizes helping patients develop sustainable strategies through lifestyle changes, behavioral support and, when appropriate, medical therapy.

 

Dr. Zylberglait earned her medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru, and a master’s degree in public health and epidemiology from Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal. She completed her internal medicine and geriatric medicine training at the University of Miami. Her clinical interests include the intersection of obesity, aging and chronic disease, with a focus on improving function, energy and overall well-being.

In addition to her clinical leadership, Dr. Zylberglait has an extensive background in academic medicine and physician development. She has served in faculty roles for multiple residency programs and medical schools, including Florida International University, and has held leadership positions dedicated to mentoring physicians and advancing well-being in medicine. She is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented nationally and internationally on obesity, frailty, healthcare utilization and physician resilience.
