His postdoctoral training also included a surgical research fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Jimenez was director of the Division of Surgical Oncology at Hartford Healthcare Medical Group in Hartford, Conn. An educator as well, he served as clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
