Manuel Ozambela Jr MD joins Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute as Urologic Surgical Oncologist

Resized Dr. Manuel OzambelaMIAMI, FL – September 6, 2023– Manuel Ozambela, Jr., M.D., joins Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute as a specialist in treating urinary and reproductive system cancers, including kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular and penile cancers. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Ozambela completed his fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. During the fellowship, he worked with a multidisciplinary group of investigators to study rare and aggressive kidney tumors and identify novel treatment ptions.

In addition, he has authored multiple scientific abstracts, manuscripts and book chapters on various urologic oncology topics. Through his research, he strives to identify new diagnostic and treatment options for genitourinary cancers, improve patient recovery after surgery and enhance patients’ quality of life.

Dr. Ozambela earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his urologic surgery training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the Harvard Program in Urology. During his residency, he earned the Exceptional Resident Award and the Award in Academic Excellence for his outstanding clinical performance and academic achievements.
