Kristina Espinosa, Psy.D., PMH-C., joins Miami Cancer Institute as Clinical Psychologist
MIAMI –June 27,2022– Clinical psychologist Kristina Espinosa, Psy.D., PHM-C, joins Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health. Dr. Espinosa specializes in evidence-based and integrated psychotherapy that focuses on biological, social and psychological factors that influence health and wellness.
“We are honored to welcome Dr. Espinosa to Miami Cancer Institute as an important resource for our patients,” said Leonard Kalman, M.D., executive deputy director and chief medical officer at Miami Cancer Institute. “Through a variety of individually tailored methods and tools, she helps people find meaning through difficult transitions and issues, such as cancer and chronic illness.”
Prior to joining the Institute, Dr. Espinosa was a psychologist at Children’s National Hospital and faculty at the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
She was the first author to describe an evidence-based psychological intervention for prenatal material psychological intervention for congenital heart disease. A certified provider of perinatal mental health, she’s also a member of the American Psychological Oncology Society.
Dr. Espinosa earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University. She completed her internship and fellowship in health service psychology at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale and Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, respectively.
