Judy and Artie Canter Continue Their Support of Boca Raton Regional Hospital, part of Baptist Health

December 1, 2025

BOCA RATON, FL – December 1, 2025 – Judy and Artie Canter have made a second philanthropic gift to Keeping the Promise…The Campaign for Boca Raton Regional Hospital, the largest fundraising initiative in the organization's history. The Canters’ gift will name the future elevator lobby on the 7th Floor for orthopedics in the new Gloria Drummond Patient Tower.

“We are deeply grateful to donors like Judy and Artie, whose steadfast support continues to strengthen our hospital and its mission,” said Lincoln Mendez, north region executive of Baptist Health and CEO, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, part of Baptist Health. “The Canters’ remarkable gift is a true testament to their commitment to advancing healthcare in our community. Their leadership and generosity inspire others to join in shaping what’s ahead.”

Judy and Artie Canter became part of Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s family of donors in 2018, when they first attended the Annual Hospital Ball. Inspired by the vital role the hospital plays in the community, they soon made a generous contribution to the Keeping the Promise campaign, supporting the building of the Proton Therapy Center, set to open in early 2026, at Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute. That meaningful gift also honored two esteemed physicians, Michael Kasper, M.D. and David Taub, M.D.

With their most recent contribution, the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation is proud to recognize Judy and Artie Canter as Eminent Philanthropists. With cumulative giving exceeding $1 million, the Canters join an esteemed group of donors whose generosity continues to transform Boca Raton Regional Hospital and advance its mission of providing world-class, compassionate care.

Artie states, “Boca Raton Regional Hospital is a not-for-profit institution that depends on the support of local and regional residents. We all want state-of-the-art healthcare in our own backyard, and thanks to the generosity of those with the capacity and commitment to give, our hospital has not only kept pace but also grown. Judy and I are so pleased that we have been able to “give back” – both to Boca Regional and our community.”

As grateful patients, the Canters have become passionate champions of Boca Raton Regional Hospital, eager to inspire others to join them in supporting the hospital’s continued success. They recognize that attracting new, equally devoted donors is vital to ensuring that the hospital remains at the forefront of innovation and excellence in healthcare.

“Raising more than $290 million through the Keeping the Promise campaign is an extraordinary milestone, yet our work doesn’t end there,” said Mark Larkin, president of the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. “We are profoundly grateful to our donors who share our vision for the future and understand that philanthropy is the foundation of lasting progress. Judy and Artie exemplify this commitment, and we extend our sincere appreciation for their generosity and belief in what lies ahead for Boca Raton Regional Hospital.”

The Keeping the Promise Campaign is the largest fundraising initiative in Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s history and is supporting more than $1 billion in capital investments. The campus redevelopment plans include the Gloria Drummond Patient Tower and a critical care tower where patients will be welcomed in the inviting new Louis B. and Anne W. Green Lobby with plans for retail, dining, meeting space, a sanctuary, outdoor courtyards and other conveniences for visitors. The project features all private patient rooms exceeding the latest safety standards for patient care. In the current hospital building, all existing rooms will be converted to private rooms in a comprehensive renovation of all patient units including maternity, oncology and orthopedics. An expansion of Marcus Neuroscience Institute, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, part of Baptist Health, is now complete, with an emphasis on stroke, central nervous system tumors, spine and epilepsy. The 972-car Schmidt Family Parking Facility will connect to Marcus Neuroscience Institute. The new Toby and Leon Cooperman Medical Arts Pavilion is home to our orthopedic institute, with an outpatient surgery center and physician specialty offices, and is adjacent to the Eleanor Baldwin Parking Facility.
