Jessen Jacob, M.D., joins Baptist Health’s Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute as a Cardiologist
MIAMI – October 4, 2021 – Cardiologist Jessen Jacob, M.D., joins Baptist Health’s Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. Dr. Jacob specializes in diagnosing and treating complex cardiovascular diseases, such as coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and heart failure, as well as preventive cardiology. He has advanced specialized training in cardiac imaging using transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, cardiac CT, and nuclear cardiology.

Prior to joining Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, Dr. Jacob worked as a noninvasive academic cardiologist, including a previous academic appointment as assistant professor of medicine and radiology at the University of Florida.
Dr. Jacob holds a master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University, where he expanded his knowledge of research study design, epidemiology and biostatistics.
After his fellowship at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Jacob completed additional training in advanced cardiovascular imaging at the Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center in Houston. During this time, he trained with world-renowned cardiovascular imaging experts in valvular heart disease, 3D imaging, strain imaging, structural imaging, cardiac CT and nuclear cardiology.
His research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals. He also serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed publications, serves on national committees and has presented at multiple national conferences.
Dr. Jacob earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic, a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Minnesota and an advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship at the Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center.
Dr. Jacob is part of the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute’s Cardiology Group. The team is composed of the most accomplished and respected professionals in their field.
