Homestead Hospital names Ana M. Cabrera, DNP, ACNP-BC, NEA-BC, CCRN, vice president and chief nursing officer

HOMESTEAD, FL – September 22, 2020 – Homestead Hospital, part of Baptist Health South Florida, has named Ana M. Cabrera, DNP, ACNP-BC, NEA-BC, CCRN, vice president and chief nursing officer. Ms. Cabrera’s productive nursing career has spanned 32 years—16 of which have been spent serving in nursing leadership roles. She most recently held the position of Homestead Hospital’s interim chief nursing officer, providing guidance and oversight for nursing operations.

Prior to her appointment as interim CNO, Ms. Cabrera served as assistant vice president of nursing at Homestead Hospital. She was responsible for Perinatal Services, Surgical Services, Critical Care, Progressive Care as well as the Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments, which have more than 85,000 visits annually. In addition, Ms. Cabrera represents Homestead Hospital on various system-wide committees and is a member of the American Nurses Association and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Ms. Cabrera earned a master’s degree in nursing as an acute care nurse practitioner and a doctorate in nursing practice, both from Barry University in Miami. She is board certified as an acute care nurse practitioner, nurse executive advanced and critical care registered nurse. She resides in Homestead with her spouse of 30 years, Gabriel, and has two grown sons, Jose and Steven.
