Gregg and Lori Gottsegen Make $1 Million Gift to Keeping The Promise Capital Campaign
BOCA RATON, Fla. – May 19, 2025 – Gregg and Lori Gottsegen recently made a generous $1 million gift to Keeping the Promise…The Campaign for Boca Raton Regional Hospital. This gift will name the second-floor reception area in the Toby and Leon Cooperman Medical Arts Pavilion.
Although the Gottsegens have only been full-time residents of Boca Raton since 2020, their history goes back more than ten years. Having family in the Boca area brought Gregg and Lori down to South Florida on a part-time basis. However, they were long-time residents of Livingston, NJ, where they raised their family and were very involved with the community. Gregg proudly sits on the board of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, which is located in Livingston.
The Gottsegens have come to know the Toby and Leon Cooperman personally, making their most recent gift to Boca Raton Regional Hospital, part of Baptist Health, even more meaningful. Toby and Leon have been strong supporters of the hospital for many years, helping to develop remarkable clinical services that will enhance the health and well-being of South Florida residents. As Gregg explains, “Lori and I have a deep respect and admiration for the philanthropic life that Toby and Leon lead. Their generosity has changed the lives of countless people and is truly something we admire.”
“Receiving a gift from active community members like the Gottsegens is so impactful,” says Lincoln Mendez, North Region Executive, Baptist Health and CEO of Boca Raton Regional Hospital. “They know the importance of having a state-of-the-art medical facility in their own backyard, so no one has to worry about traveling to receive excellent healthcare.”
In addition to healthcare, Gregg and Lori are actively involved in Jewish Family Services. Last year, they were honored with the Rales Humanitarian of the Year Award by the Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Family Services. For the past eight years, Gregg and Lori have been event chairs for “A Tribute to Our Heroes through the American Friends of Magen David Adom.” Being connected to their community is essential, and they have found many ways to make an impression.
“We recognized the enthusiasm that accompanies Gregg and Lori’s giving. While they give philanthropically, they also want to be involved on a personal level. Gregg is a member of our Golf Tournament committee, which is in its 26th year of supporting nursing service at Boca Regional,” states Mark Larkin, President of Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. As donors, the Gottsegens can look back at their impact and know that we are so thankful to be part of their generosity.”
The Keeping the Promise Campaign is the largest fundraising initiative in Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s history and supports more than $1 billion in capital investments. The campus redevelopment plans include the Gloria Drummond Patient Tower and a critical care tower where patients will be welcomed in the inviting new Louis B. and Anne W. Green Lobby with plans for retail, dining, meeting space, a sanctuary, outdoor courtyards and other conveniences for visitors. The project features all private patient rooms exceeding the latest safety standards for patient care. In the current hospital building, all existing rooms will be converted to private rooms in a comprehensive renovation of all patient units, including maternity, oncology and orthopedics. An expansion of Marcus Neuroscience Institute is now complete, with an emphasis on stroke, central nervous system tumors, spine and epilepsy. The 972-car Schmidt Family Parking Facility will connect to Marcus Neuroscience Institute. The new Toby and Leon Cooperman Medical Arts Pavilion is home to our orthopedic institute, with an outpatient surgery center and physician specialty offices, and is adjacent to the Eleanor Baldwin Parking Facility.
