Fishermen’s Community Hospital Names 2020 Nurse of The Year
Marathon, FL – June 3, 2020 – Fishermen’s Community Hospital is proud to announce that Stephanie Childress, RN, CCRN, has been named the hospital’s 2020 Nurse of the Year.
Mrs. Childress demonstrates excellence in nursing by embodying Baptist Health values and going above and beyond for her patients and coworkers. She is professional, compassionate and a great asset to the hospital, say her leaders and peers. She has maintained her critical care registered nurse certification and is pursuing her emergency nurse certification.
“Mrs. Childress is a model nurse who provides safe, patient-centered care. She teaches other nurses and always makes herself available to assist in answering any questions people have with an upbeat, positive and encouraging attitude,” said Melanie O’Neill, director of Nursing Services, Multispecialty Acute Care Center of Fishermen’s Community Hospital. “This award is well-deserved in recognition of her commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare.”
When Mrs. Childress is not working in the Fishermen’s Emergency Department, you can find her working as a flight nurse with Trauma Star, working on a performance improvement project on stroke alerts to enhance protocols in the hospital’s unit or volunteering in the community.
