Fernando A. Moya, M.D., Ph.D., joins Baptist Health Orthopedic Care as an Orthopedic Surgeon
PLANTATION, FL – February 2, 2022 – Fernando A. Moya, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Moya specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, including the care of knees and shoulders. He speaks English and Spanish.

Dr. Moya joined Baptist Health Orthopedic Care from Sports Medicine Associates of South Florida, where he worked as an orthopedic surgeon and was the director of joint surgery.
He has been published in numerous pharmacological medical journals, such as the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology and the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is also a fellow and member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Moya earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He then completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. Along with his medical degree, Dr. Moya holds a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He also completed postdoctoral research fellowships at Harvard University and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
