Endocrinologist Dr. Heberto Valdes joins Baptist Health South Florida
CORAL GABLES, FL – November 25, 2020 – Endocrinologist Heberto Valdes, M.D., has joined Baptist Health South Florida. Dr. Valdes treats patients with hormone-related diseases, such as diabetes and thyroid disorders. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Valdes joined Baptist Health from Broward Health in Fort Lauderdale. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Valdes is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine. He has also participated in several endocrinology clinical trials, led presentations for the Endocrine Society and American College of Physicians.
Dr. Valdes is passionate about endocrinology because it allows him to play a critical role in the lives of his patients. Through lifestyle modifications and innovative therapies, he helps patients prevent potentially life-altering conditions.
Dr. Valdes earned his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and completed an internal medicine residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Flushing, New York. He then completed a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.
He will see patients at two locations: 11535 SW 88 Street in Kendall Town & Country, and 13101 South Dixie Highway, Suite 400, in Pinecrest.
