Eleftheria Kalogera, M.D., joins Miami Cancer Institute as Gynecologic Oncologist
MIAMI – June 8, 2021 – Gynecologic oncologist Eleftheria Kalogera, M.D., M.Sc., joins Miami Cancer Institute, a part of Baptist Health. Dr. Kalogera specializes in treating gynecologic cancers, including the surgical and medical management of ovarian, uterine, cervical, vaginal and vulvar cancers. She is fluent in English, Greek, French and Spanish. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Kalogera completed her training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
In addition to helping individual patients, Dr. Kalogera is passionate about gynecologic oncology research, with the ultimate goal of helping patients at a broader level. She has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences and has published her work in leading peer-reviewed publications, including the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the International Journal of Gynecologic Cancer. Dr. Kalogera also serves as a reviewer for many scientific publications.
During her research fellowship, she, along with an expert research team, was the recipient of the prestigious Mayo Clinic Excellence Through Teamwork Award for serving as co-principal investigator in the Departmental and Multidisciplinary Quality Improvement project, “Enhanced Recovery in Gynecologic Surgery.” This continuing work on Enhanced Recovery After Surgery revolutionized the perioperative care model and has resulted in a major paradigm shift in the gynecologic surgical practice.
Dr. Kalogera completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. During residency, she pursued a clinical investigator track, which included an additional year of training, and earned a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Science. This was followed by her gynecologic oncology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
She will see patients at Miami Cancer Institute and West Kendall Baptist Hospital.
