Doctors Hospital Names New Officers to Board of Directors

CORAL GABLES, FL – August 3, 2020 – Baptist Health South Florida is pleased to announce a new a slate of officers to the Board of Directors of Doctors Hospital. Sheldon T. Anderson will serve as Chair, Abel L. Iglesias as Vice Chair, Bonnie Blaire as Secretary and Sats Tripathy as Treasurer.

Sheldon T. Anderson is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the southeast region of the Northern Trust. He is an active philanthropist and Board member of many south Florida organizations, including Baptist Health South Florida, Miami Dade College Foundation, Institute of Contemporary Art, New World Symphony, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart and the Orange Bowl Committee. He is a Board member and past Chair of both the United Way and the Miami-Dade Beacon Council.

Abel L. Iglesias is President and Chief Operating Officer of Professional Bank. He has more than 30 years of banking experience in South Florida. He is a Board member of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the Coral Gables Museum. He is former Chair of the Board of Miami Dade College’s Center for Financial Training and Friends of WLRN 91.3 FM (NPR). Mr. Iglesias also served as a Board member of the Latin Builders Association, the City of Coral Gables Historic Preservation Board and the Miami-Dade Beacon Council. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Miami and a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in business administration from Barry University.

Bonnie Blaire is a retired attorney, legal author and lecturer. She has more than 40 years of experience as a practicing attorney in both Florida state and U.S. federal courts. She has published legal volumes in Business Law and the Uniform Commercial Code. She has served on the City of Coral Gables Disability Affairs Board for more than 30 years. She continues as a consultant for disability services and programs, also serving as a Trustee for ROOF, a state-wide housing initiative for persons with disabilities, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Independent Living of South Florida. Ms. Blaire is a member of the Coral Gables Community Foundation, Coral Gables Garden Club, Coral Gables Rotary Club, Community Benefit Committee of Baptist Health South Florida and life member of the Junior Orange Bowl Committee. She holds a master’s degree from Columbia University and law degree from the University of Miami.

Sats Tripathy is a former business consultant and coach, specializing in the needs of entrepreneurs and not-for-profit organizations from around the world, and an economics instructor. She serves on the Boards of Baptist Health Enterprises and Baptist Outpatient Services and the Investment Committee of Baptist Health South Florida. Ms. Tripathy is past Co-chair of the Board of Directors of Florida Women of Achievement and forum facilitator for a women’s CEO group at the Commonwealth Institute. She holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and education at Calcutta University and a master’s degree in business administration at Texas Christian University.
