David Michael Trueba, M.D., Joins Baptist Health Primary Care

MIAMI, FL – November 22. 2024 – Internal medicine physician David Michael Trueba, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Primary Care as a primary care physician. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and nephrology. He provides comprehensive primary care and has expertise in treating hypertension, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, anemia and electrolyte imbalance.

Dr. Trueba has more than 20 years of experience treating patients in outpatient and inpatient settings. He has held numerous leadership positions in the medical community, including president of the medical staff and chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Baptist Health Homestead Hospital.

Dr. Trueba earned his medical degree at Universidad Central del Este Facultad de Medicina in the Dominican Republic. He completed an internal medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and a nephrology fellowship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

When it comes to patient care, Dr. Trueba is committed to providing empathetic patient-centered care. “I actively listen to my patients, recognize their needs and preferences, validate their feelings and collaborate with them to make informed decisions about their care,” he said.

Dr. Trueba is fluent in English and Spanish. He will see patients at Baptist Health Primary Care | Tavernier, 91550 Overseas Highway, Suite 215, Tavernier, FL 33070, and Baptist Health Primary Care | Marathon, 3303 Overseas Highway, Suite 100, Marathon, FL 33050.
