Baptist Health Opens Freestanding ER on Coral Way

MIAMI  ̶  October 6, 2020  ̶ Baptist Health has opened its second Emergency Care center, this one on Coral Way and 147^th Avenue in Miami. The full-service ER is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is staffed by Board-certified emergency medicine physicians, physician assistants, nurses and nurse practitioners. They are able to provide care for life-threatening conditions and emergencies.

“We know that our community desires trustworthy and high-quality care close to home,” said Nancy Batista-Rodriguez, CEO of Baptist Outpatient Services. “With this new facility, we plan to deliver just that.”

Located at 14591 SW 26 St., the Baptist Health Emergency Care center is located close to homes, businesses and schools in the West Miami-Dade community, giving patients convenient access to care. This will be a valuable resource for residents in a fast-growing area.

The sleek and modern facility is nearly 40,000 square feet in size. Designed to serve as a healing environment, patients’ needs were top of mind from the beginning to ensure their trip to the ER is hassle-free.

“In this type of facility, we have the resources necessary to care for any patient with a medical emergency, right in the heart of West Miami-Dade,” said Dr. Jose Llach, emergency physician at Baptist Health and lead physician for Baptist Health’s Emergency Care centers in West Miami-Dade and West Kendall. “Shorter travel distances from the point of emergency to care mean better outcomes.”

The new ER provides the West Miami-Dade community a third emergency care option from Baptist Health, along with the ER at West Kendall Baptist Hospital and our other freestanding location in West Kendall.
