Armando Alvarez, M.D., Joins Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute
MIAMI, FL – November 28, 2023– Armando Alvarez, M.D., recently joined Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute as a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, diagnosing and treating patients with spine pain and a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including bone, muscle, joint, ligament, tendon and cartilage disorders. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Prior to joining Miami Neuroscience Institute, Dr. Alvarez completed his pain medicine fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Outside of clinical care, Dr. Alvarez conducts research, including studies on the management and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and analyzing healthcare disparities in diverse populations. He is also a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and American Society of Regional Anesthesia.
Dr. Alvarez earned his master’s degree in public health from the University of Miami and his medical degree from University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine. As a student, he initiated the first Diversity Week at the school and achieved the Gold Humanism Award for serving as a role model, mentor and leader in medicine. He then completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Understanding the unique complexities of pain management, Dr. Alvarez strives to help his patients overcome their conditions and return to the activities they love.
