About Fishermen's Community Hospital

Fishermen's Community Hospital was founded in 1962 by dedicated community members who understood the need for a hospital as a cornerstone of any thriving community. When the hospital was severely damaged by Hurricane Irma in 2017, Baptist Health South Florida established a mobile field hospital and a custom-designed modular hospital to ensure there was no interruption of care to the community. Construction on the entirely new hospital began in 2018.

Opened in the summer of 2021, the eight-bed Fishermen’s Community Hospital is designed to withstand Category 5 hurricane wind speeds. The hospital provides specialized services for the Middle and Lower Keys communities, including:

Resources for Hospital Data

Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) makes available data on hospital prices and performance on their Internet website at quality.healthfinder.fl.gov/ and pricing healthfinder.fl.gov. The data on hospital prices and performance are based on a compilation of charges for the average patient. A patient's bill may vary from the average shown, depending upon the severity of illness and individual care needs. The service bundle information is a non-personalized estimate of costs that may be incurred by the patient for anticipated services and that actual costs will be based on services actually provided to the patient.
