About Fishermen's Community Hospital

Fishermen’s Community Hospital is currently providing care to the community from an improved modular facility with a 24/7 emergency room. With inpatient beds, outpatient observation, diagnostic imaging, a lab, pharmacy and more, it’s the same compassionate care you’ve come to expect in a more comfortable and expanded environment. Fishermen’s, which has been caring for the Florida Keys since 1962, was closed in September 2017 when Hurricane Irma swept through the area. As the Keys continues its road to recovery, Fishermen’s Community Hospital is making a long-term investment in the Middle Keys community. Your health and wellness are the reasons we are here, and we’re looking forward to breaking ground on a completely new hospital this year. The new hospital will include: 22 patient treatment positions; eight inpatient beds including two intensive care beds with 24/7 monitoring; nine Emergency Department beds; five additional recovery beds; 24/7 emergency services; surgical services including endoscopy; advanced diagnostic and imaging services; clinical support services including laboratory, pharmacy, and cardiopulmonary; patient support services including admitting, patient registration, kitchen and dining; a chapel; gift shop services; and an on-site helipad. It will also be built to Category 5 Hurricane standards with emergency power to operate for four days.

Resources for Hospital Data

Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) makes available data on hospital prices and performance on their Internet website at FloridaHealthFinder.gov and Pricing.FloridaHealthFinder.gov. The data on hospital prices and performance are based on a compilation of charges for the average patient. A patient's bill may vary from the average shown, depending upon the severity of illness and individual care needs. The service bundle information is a non-personalized estimate of costs that may be incurred by the patient for anticipated services and that actual costs will be based on services actually provided to the patient.
