Doctors Hospital, located in the heart of historic Coral Gables, has provided high-quality medical care to the community since 1949. Recognized as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, Doctors Hospital offers general and specialized services, including orthopedics and sports medicine, cardiac care and sports cardiology, general surgery, robotic and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, geriatric medicine and pulmonary care. The emergency department at Doctors Hospital provides a high-tech, high-touch approach to medicine. The facility also boasts a new, state-of-the-art intensive care unit and provides a wide range of outpatient diagnostic services.

Doctors Hospital is also home to the Miami HEAT Sports Medicine Center at Baptist Health Orthopedic Institute. The 49,000-square-foot facility houses all of the Institute’s orthopedic specialties, including an ambulatory surgery center on the top floor.

The heart of the Institute, the Miami HEAT Sports Medicine Center, is located on the Doctors Hospital campus in Coral Gables. This facility houses several orthopedics and sports medicine clinics and an ambulatory surgery center with four operating rooms. The Center complements the Institute’s integrated network of locations, which includes additional outposts throughout the tri-county South Florida region. We are extremely proud of the orthopedic expertise available to patients at Doctors Hospital and throughout our region, and remain dedicated to providing outstanding medical care to all we serve.

Visitor Information

For the health and safety of our patients, our visitor policy is as follows:

The level of COVID-19 transmission in Miami-Dade County is currently HIGH, according to CDC COVID-19 Community Levels by county. Baptist Health-issued face masks are required to be worn at all times while at this facility, regardless of vaccination status.

Two visitors at a time may be present with each patient during regular visiting hours (this may include a designated essential visitor for at least two hours daily).

Visiting hours are from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. 

After 9 p.m., all patients must enter and exit through the Emergency Room. The main lobby will be closed.

Elective Surgery/Procedure patients may be accompanied by two visitors in the ambulatory area and one visitor at a time in PACU. Two visitors are allowed in the surgery waiting area.

Active screening for symptoms is taking place at entrance to the Emergency Room only.

Reserved Parking is available for the patients visiting our facility. There is also a valet service, and a public transportation drop off a block away from our facility.
