Maternity care

Having a baby is one of life’s most cherished experiences – an experience made more wonderful when parents feel good about their pregnancy, delivery and raising their newborn. Our dedicated, professional staff is here to help you and your family get the best, most loving and comfortable start in life.

Visitor policies & screening

One support person can always be with you. Two additional visitors can be with you during labor, and postpartum patients are allowed visitors from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. We will work with you to make accommodations for special circumstances.

A home away from home

Your birth experience begins as you arrive at our private entrance. Then, you’ll settle into one of our 12 beautifully decorated labor/delivery/recovery rooms – your ‘home’ during your hospital stay.

Each private suite includes all the comforts of home, including a modern bed, sleeper sofa, rocking chair, dining table, dresser, television and many other special amenities. And behind the scenes, our state-of-the-art security system lets us always monitor your newborn.

Visiting hours are flexible to accommodate your family’s routine. Your family, including your other children, can visit anytime that is convenient for you.

Your baby can stay in a bassinet beside your bed during your entire stay. But if you need a break or complications arise, rest assured your baby can stay in our fully equipped nursery.

A board-certified neonatologist, a doctor specializing in the care of high-risk infants, is available on-site 24 hours a day to attend to your newborn’s health in our newly state-approved Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) if necessary. Our board-certified anesthesiologists, doctors who help relieve your baby’s pain during procedures, are also available round-the-clock.

Mother/baby nursing care

Unique to Toppel Family Place, we offer postpartum mother/baby nursing care, which means the same nurses care for both mother and baby on each shift. Most care takes place in your room by a maternal/child nurse. They are at your side to answer questions, provide resources, share their knowledge and help you develop your infant care skills.

Universal hearing tests for all newborns

Boca Raton Regional Hospital is the first hospital in the area to provide hearing tests for all newborns. Toppel Family Place is dedicated to identifying hearing impairment at birth rather than months or years later.

Birth certificates and documentation

Before discharge, a medical record representative will help you complete the birth certificate and social security forms. The state requires both forms. The State of Florida will mail you an official copy within a few months.

Baby photos

On the day of discharge, a photographer from our 365 will ask if you want your baby’s picture taken before going home. Photos are taken in your room in the outfit of your choice. Various photo packages can be paid for by credit card, cash, COD or check.
