This location is dedicated to MRI imaging only. Exams are performed by experienced technologists and interpreted by board-certified radiologists to support accurate diagnosis and coordinated care.

MRI Imaging Focused on Clear Answers

Magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, uses powerful magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of organs, soft tissues, joints and other structures inside the body.

Your physician may order an MRI to evaluate:

  • Brain and spine conditions
  • Joint injuries
  • Sports-related injuries
  • Abdominal or pelvic concerns
  • Soft tissue abnormalities

MRI does not use radiation.

Scheduling and Check-In Process

Most MRI exams require an order from your physician.

To schedule:

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

Check-in instructions:

  • Follow Baptist Health signage inside the facility
  • Present a valid photo ID
  • Provide insurance information if requested

If you are unsure where to check in, campus directional signage will guide you.

What to Expect During Your MRI

We understand that MRI exams can cause anxiety for some patients. Our team focuses on clear communication and patient comfort.

During your visit, you can expect:

  • Instructions before your exam
  • A review of safety screening questions
  • Support from experienced MRI technologists
  • Communication about next steps for receiving results

Preparing for Your MRI

Preparation instructions may vary depending on the type of MRI.

Please bring:

  • A valid photo ID
  • Your insurance card
  • Physician order, if required
  • A list of current medications
  • Any prior imaging studies, if requested

Bringing the correct documentation helps prevent delays.

You may be asked to:

  • Remove metal objects, including jewelry and watches
  • Inform staff about implanted devices or medical hardware
  • Avoid eating or drinking before certain exams

Our scheduling team will provide detailed instructions before your appointment.

Getting Your Results

After your MRI:

  • A radiologist will review and interpret your images
  • A report will be sent to your ordering physician and will be available on the Baptist Health PineApp
  • Your physician will discuss results and next steps with you

Parking

MRI patients must park in Garage PG5, located on 109th Avenue on the FIU campus.

After entering the garage:

  • Drive up the ramp.
  • At the top of the ramp, make a left.
  • Park only in the designated Baptist Health spaces, marked with green paint on the garage floor.

Please follow all posted Baptist Health directional signs.

Parking is restricted to the green Baptist Health spaces only. Vehicles parked outside of these designated spaces may receive a parking citation.
