PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency
Baptist Health South Florida
This second-year residency program is intended to increase the resident’s depth of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and level of expertise in medication therapy management and clinical leadership in ambulatory care. The intent of this program would be to not only to prepare the pharmacist to be proficient as a clinician, but to also give them the foundation to successfully complete the Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) examination.
This Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) program is 52 weeks in length. Residents completing this program will exhibit a thorough knowledge base and corresponding skills required to function independently in the ambulatory care setting. They will be effective, confident, and well-informed practitioners who will be capable of providing evidence-based care to ambulatory patients. The focus of the residency program is direct patient care and clinical practice, involving experiences with an interdisciplinary Ambulatory Care team in Primary Care, Cardiology, Endocrinology, and specialty environments.
Strengths of the Program:
- Employed physician groups in Primary Care, Endocrinology, and Cardiology, practicing cutting-edge, evidence-based patient care in a collaborative environment
