Observer Program

Baptist Health South Florida is committed to promoting learning at our facilities, with the goal of increasing the number of healthcare professionals in the communities we serve. To this end, our facilities will accept requests from qualified applicants desiring to take part in the Observer program.

Prospective applicants may choose to shadow under the supervision of a Baptist Health clinical employee or medical staff member including physicians. Observers may shadow clinicians on rounds, watch procedures and surgeries and attend teaching conferences. Observers may not participate in any patient care activities or research. The duration of the observership is at the discretion of the clinician and can last up to four weeks.

The program is open to anyone over the age of 16 who meets the criteria outlined in the application packet. An observership is a voluntary experience that does not constitute employment, compensation, medical education or any training leading to academic credit, licensure or board certification. Baptist Health will not issue grades or written evaluations for this program.

Baptist Health is unable to sponsor visas for participants of this program. If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, complete the International Eligibility Form and return it to International@BaptistHealth.net prior to completing a program application.
