Quality, Safety & Service

Choosing the right hospital is a decision that can affect the rest of your life. Doing a bit of homework in advance makes all the sense in the world. There is enough information available for free online to help you shop around for the best provider.

Some of the more credible and trusted sources for comparing hospital care – in terms of quality, safety and service - include the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid, the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration, The Leapfrog Group, The Commonwealth Fund, and the American College of Surgeons.

In order to show how Baptist Health hospitals perform, we have formatted much of the data from these sources into easy-to-follow tables and graphs. You may note that our goal is not merely to be better than the national average (which most providers are content to strive for), but rather to perform at a level on par with the best performers in the nation: to be amongst the Top 10% hospitals for each performance metric. At Baptist Health, where there is a culture and expectation for excellence, we set the bar that much higher.

When it comes to your health or the health of your loved ones, you should expect better care. You should expect care that is responsive to your needs, care that is safe from medical error, care that follows best practice, care that delivers better medical results and care that is recognized as high quality by credible sources. You should expect healthcare that cares.
