Dawn Stavor, a Key Largo resident, has received Mariners Hospital’s first Osprey Award for Outstanding Leadership.
The award is given to a Mariners Hospital leader who exhibits exceptional leadership in at least two of the following competencies: people, service, quality and safety, growth, finance and community. Ms. Stavor, director of nursing, was nominated by employees for her outstanding skills with people, her leadership style and her strong personal commitment to providing excellent service to Mariners Hospital’s patients.
Rick Freeburg, Mariners CEO, explained the origin of the award’s name. “In the bird family, the osprey is in a class by itself,” he said. “Scientifically, the osprey is somewhere between hawks and falcons. Mariners leaders, like Dawn, who receive the Osprey Award are in a class all by themselves – exceptional leaders.”
Mariners Hospital is part of Baptist Health, the area’s largest faith-based, not-for-profit healthcare organization.
