Physical, speech and occupational therapy is the medically supervised treatment of injuries and physical conditions by a specially trained therapist. Baptist Health offers inpatient and outpatient physical, speech and occupational therapy to adults and children through our Rehabilitation Services program. A physician’s referral is required.
Our licensed, bilingual therapists begin by performing a thorough needs assessment. Based on this assessment, and working with a physical medicine doctor, the therapists develop a treatment plan for each patient. Patients and families are encouraged to participate in decisions and to ask questions during the therapy process.
Patients who have an illness, injury or developmental delays can benefit from rehabilitation. We help patients return to their highest level of functioning and independence. Our therapists assist patients with a variety of conditions, including:
Aphasia (loss of language), motor speech disorders, cognitive communication disorders, dementia, voice disorders, swallowing problems
Arthritis-related joint problems

Cardiovascular rehabilitation to reduce risk of recurring coronary artery disease
Neurological conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease and peripheral neuropathy
Pulmonary rehabilitation to improve lung function
