The Baptist Hospital Center for Spine Care: Solutions for Patients in Pain

Discomfort, lack of mobility and frustration are a way of life for people who suffer from back or neck pain. As one of South Florida’s most comprehensive facilities, the Baptist Hospital Center for Spine Care at the Neuroscience Center provides the expertise and treatments needed to improve your quality of life.

Our multi-specialty spine care team, led by Medical Director of the Baptist Health Neuroscience Center and Chief of Neurosurgery, Dr. Sergio Gonzalez-Arias, and Center for Spine Care Medical Director Ronald Tolchin, D.O., provides patients with diagnosis and treatment. They coordinate each aspect of your treatment plan, rehabilitation and follow-up care.

A Conservative Approach to Spine Care
Whenever possible, our physicians take a conservative approach to treatment. In some cases, they are able to offer noninvasive options to alleviate pain and restore function. Your treatment may include bed rest, massage, back supports and/or physical therapy. Or, you may benefit from pain medicine treatments such as electrical nerve stimulation or spinal injections. Some patients are candidates for minimally invasive or traditional surgery.

A Leader in Spine Surgery
If you need spine surgery, your peace of mind is assured by our surgeons’ years of experience and specialized training. They treat a high volume of spine surgery patients while maintaining some of the region’s lowest complication rates. Many patients return home the same day as surgery.
