Miami Cancer Institute represents a new era of cancer care in South Florida. You can make a difference in the health of your community by becoming a volunteer.
Our volunteers come from many diverse backgrounds and have different abilities, but they all share the desire to serve others and to make someone’s day a little brighter. Every volunteer is integral to Baptist Health’s mission of caring for our community. As a volunteer, you’ll gain as much as you give, whether it’s learning new skills, getting school credits or experiencing the satisfaction that comes from helping someone in need.
At Miami Cancer Institute, volunteers fill many important roles. They visit young patients, direct visitors to a loved one's room or deliver letters to patients. They enjoy working at events, driving a courtesy cart or helping with office duties. As a volunteer, you can choose the tasks and times that work for your lifestyle. However, a preferred schedule is two to four consecutive hours on the same day and at the same time.
As part of your volunteer application, Miami Cancer Institute may request background information about you from a consumer reporting agency. And as a member of our volunteer team, you will need an annual tuberculin skin test and influenza vaccine. You can learn more about our volunteer mission and standards by reviewing our Volunteer Handbook. (Link to Volunteer Handbook)
