The 1970s and 1980s brought additional buildings, a new main entrance, more beds and expanded space for emergency care and surgery. New services included an addiction treatment program, a cardiac catheterization lab and a full oncology department.
South Miami now houses such innovative programs as the Center for Robotic Surgery, the Center for Women & Infants, Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
