Physical Therapy

At Mariners Hospital Rehabilitation Center, our top priority is your return to an active lifestyle. We work with you to relieve pain, increase mobility, strength and stability and regain your independence.

Mariners Hospital offers physical therapy in three settings: inpatient, outpatient and swing bed/extended care.

Inpatient Physical Therapy

As an inpatient, a therapist will visit you in your hospital room and start you on your way to recovery with a program designed to meet your specific needs. Our goal is to help you transition safely to your home environment and return to the activities of daily life.

Outpatient Physical Therapy
As an outpatient, you will be partnered with a skilled, experienced therapist who will work with you during each therapy session to help you meet your goals.
Our physical therapists treat the following conditions:
  • Pain
  • Head, neck and back dysfunction, including disc herniations and stenosis
  • Shoulder and elbow injuries, including rotator cuff repair
  • Foot and ankle problems
  • Wrist and hand problems
  • Hip and knee problems
  • Sports-related injuries, including ligament, muscle and tendon injuries
  • Vertigo and balance problems
  • Total joint rehabilitation
  • Stroke recovery

  • Swing Bed/Extended Care Rehabilitation

Our Swing Bed/Extended Care Rehabilitation offers you transitional care if you are unable to care for yourself at home while recovering from an illness or injury. Patients recovering from orthopedic surgery or cardiac or respiratory illnesses and those needing IV antibiotic therapy for wound care benefit from this service.

Clinicians from physical therapy, nursing, social work and dietary services work together to implement a holistic plan of care that helps you heal and regain function in a safe environment.

    Experienced Team Members

At Mariners Hospital, you will work with experienced therapists who have been licensed by the State of Florida. You can look forward to our quality “hands-on” approach and personal care.

Our therapists understand how the body works and how pain and physical trauma can limit the body. Through structured exercise, we strive to help you reclaim mobility and combat pain -- getting you back to doing the things you love.
