Volunteer at Homestead Hospital

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Homestead Hospital! Our volunteers are an invaluable part of our team and support our staff in our commitment to service excellence and high-quality care. Volunteers are assigned throughout the hospital, including at the front desk, in the gift shop and kitchen, emergency department, ICU, mother-baby unit and elsewhere.

Homestead Hospital accepts volunteers age 18+ year-round into our adult program; high school students who are at least age 15 and in 9th, 10th or 11th grade may apply to our junior volunteer program in the spring. For both programs, we ask for a minimum commitment of one 4-hour shift a week for a year. If you wish to continue at the end of one year and we have availability, you may do so. Many of our volunteers stay with us for years!

Volunteer Services interviews, orients and trains qualified applicants and eagerly welcomes people of all backgrounds and abilities. Applications are available at the information desk in the hospital lobby. If you need additional information about our programs, call the volunteer office at 786-243-8201.

Those wishing to provide spiritual ministry should contact our Pastoral Care department directly at 786-243-8551.

When you join our volunteer program, you become part of our family, making lifelong friendships while helping others. Whether greeting family members, running errands for our staff, giving a blanket, providing comfort in a time of need or simply sharing a smile, your service makes a difference.

We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
