Preparing for Your Surgery at Baptist Hospital
As a Surgery Center of Excellence, we place great emphasis on providing excellent and compassionate care and service to our patients, their families and support networks. The Pre-Surgery Office prepares patients and their families for a safe and informed surgical experience.  Learn how patients can best plan for their surgical experience at Baptist Hospital.

Laparoscopic Surgery
One of the most important surgical advances in recent years is laparoscopic surgery, which is performed through a narrow tube with a miniature camera. At Baptist, surgeons can now do major operations through tiny incisions. The result: less pain, a shorter hospital stay, and faster recovery.

Medical Arts Surgery Center
While many surgical procedures require an overnight stay, most patients are treated on an outpatient basis - often at the Medical Arts Surgery Center. The Center's tasteful decor and easy access to parking offer a convenient and comfortable health care experience. For more detailed information on this Center, select it from the "Outpatient Centers" menu on the top of this page.

Blood Conservation Program
At Baptist Hospital, we believe that medical care should allow for personal preferences. Some patients may not want to receive blood transfusions because of religious reasons and others may simply want to minimize the risk of adverse reactions.

The Baptist Hospital Blood Conservation Program is designed to serve the medical and surgical needs of patients without the use of blood transfusions.   Our specialized team works with your physician and uses a wide range of innovative techniques that minimize blood loss. Our skilled specialists can help patients safely avoid the need for blood products.

To learn more about the Baptist Hospital Blood Conservation Program, call 786-596-8505 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., email mercedir@baptisthealth.net, or speak with your physician.
