Wendy Cardenas is a certified acute care nurse practitioner at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. She specializes in sleep medicine and collaborates with our heart care experts to diagnose and treat sleep disorders in people with cardiac conditions.
Wendy earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing as well as a master’s degree in nursing at Barry University in Miami Shores. She also earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Saint Francis Medical College of Nursing, located in Peoria, Ill. Prior to working with patients in the cardiology specialty, she was a critical care nurse practitioner.
Wendy helps patients understand that restorative sleep is essential for good heart health because it can protect the heart from inflammation and added stress.
When Wendy is not treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her family.
